Our Mission: We like to help tourists who are interested in our country. We know, how difficult it is to find the best possibilities in a foreign land.
Travelling commonly costs a lot of money, but nowadays the budget airlines and couchsurfing opened up the world for everybody. We also used to be tourists and experienced first-hand, how difficult it can be in an unfamiliar country and decided to help the people looking for cheaper possibilities. We help couchsurfers to find the best prices, as we are also members of this community.
How much money do I need to take?
Since it all depends on the way you like travelling we are going to give you an idea of the minimal budget to start with. You can perfectly have a good quality holiday spending 20 Euros or less per day/person (without including the cost of your accommodation) and here is how:
• You can enjoy free walking tours.
Insightful and entertaining city walks about history, society, architecture and what Hungarians are actually like. 7 days a week, 3 tours a day. Tours range from General (daily 10.30AM & 2.30PM), to Communist, (Mo, Wed, Fr, Sat. 3.30PM; Oct.28-Mar.30th 2.30PM) to Jewish (Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun. 3.30PM; Oct.28- Mar.30th 2.30PM) themed walking tours with critical and honest local guides. All walks (but General walk at 2.30 PM) meet at “Vörösmarty tér” at the lion fountain. General walk at 2.30PM meets outside St. Stephen’s Basilica. Free Spirits. Free Guides. Free Stylers.
• Ecseri market is aulso free to visit, but it is faraway from the citycenter in the 19.district. It sells antique objects, gramophones, books, chinas, coaly irons, paintings, carpets, feathers, dinner services, coins, military relics, laces etc. Mon-Fri 8-16, Sat 8-15, Sun 8-13. Best time: Saturday morning
• You can walk almost everywhere in the centre or buy a travel pass that you can use on tram, metro, bus and trolleybus.
• You can easily have a decent meal for less than 10 Euros. Also, there are plenty of small restaurants or kebab shops where locals eat regularly that offer a fixed price lunch menu for less than 4 Euros.(about 1000.-Ft)
• If you get thirsty, buy water and soft drinks from small supermarkets (called ABC in hungarian) you encounter along your way. Surely, you will even have money left to enjoy a coffee or a beer (2 Euros).
Hopefully this minimum starting budget of 20 Euros per person/day gives you an idea of how much you want to spend and bring.

My friend and I spent one night in her place. As she works in the travel agency, her advice is really useful for us in travelling in Budapest and it really works! She is so kind to us, so it’s our great time staying in her place. We really appreciated that 😀

Eniko is a wonderful lady and made our stay in Budapest very special. She is great fun to talk to and also an amazing cook. Eniko gave us the opportunity to try some great home cooked Hungarian food and also took us on a personal tour of her city. We cannot speak highly enough of Eniko and we really hope to meet again soon. Thank you Eniko!

The first moment I got there, she already had the map for me, and told me how to go to the sights. The next morning she even drove me to the local market just because I mentioned it!She really took care of me like her child. We sat in her beautiful garden and talked a lot.She knows a lot of Hungry and is willing to know China, too. The garden is really beautiful and cozy.I wish we had longer time together.
Dear Enikö, I hope to see you again, of course the best is in China.

It was my first experience and I can say that was Great. Pavay is a great person who knows what people in a new country/city want and she has great advices about the city. We share also great Hungarian-typic food and I can say that I got a small piece of Budapest and Hungary from those days from Pavay and her family. Her kids are really nice also and very kind. Even if she said thats is difficult, I really hope she will come to Costa Rica with her kids because I want to show them my country.
